Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how KeyBlock Tech, LLC ("KeyBlock," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the KeyBlock mobile application, the website keyblock.app, and related services (together, the "Services"). By creating an account or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Core privacy promise: We do not collect or transmit which specific apps you choose to block. That information stays on your device and is handled through platform frameworks (such as Apple Screen Time) where applicable. Your block lists are yours alone.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create a KeyBlock account, we collect your email address and any other information you provide during registration. If you sign in through a third-party service (such as Apple ID or Google), we may receive your name and email address from that service.
Onboarding and profile information
During setup, we collect information you provide including your age range, estimated daily screen time, and your primary focus goal (such as "Better focus at work," "Better sleep," "More presence with people I love," or "Calmer mind"). This information helps us personalize your experience and recommend relevant content, products, and practices.
Usage and activity data
We collect data about how you interact with our Services, including which blocking modes you create and activate, the duration and frequency of your blocking sessions, your activity history and progress metrics, features you use (including Dumb Phone mode, Discover page, and journal), content you view, save, or interact with on the Discover page, and the timing and frequency of your NFC tap interactions.
Device and technical information
We automatically collect certain technical information including your device model, operating system and version, app version, unique device identifiers, IP address, general location data (city/region level, derived from IP address), time zone, language preferences, and mobile network information.
Purchase information
If you purchase KeyBlock products through our website or Amazon, we or our payment processors collect your name, email address, shipping address, and order details. We do not directly store your credit card number — payment processing is handled by Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) or Amazon Payments.
Communications
When you contact our support team or respond to our surveys and communications, we collect the content of those messages along with your email address and any information you choose to provide.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:

- Send you service-related communications (account confirmations, blocking reminders, weekly summaries, product updates)
- Send you marketing communications, including tips, promotions, new features, partner offers, and content we think you'll find relevant based on your usage and preferences
- Display advertising and sponsored content within the Services, including personalized recommendations from our partners
- Conduct research, analytics, and reporting to understand usage patterns, improve our products, and develop new features
- Create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data sets for business intelligence, marketing, and sharing with partners
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users): We process your personal data based on: (a) your consent where you have provided it; (b) performance of our contract with you (providing the Services); (c) our legitimate interests, including direct marketing, improving our Services, conducting analytics, and fraud prevention, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights; and (d) compliance with legal obligations. Direct marketing via email to existing customers is conducted on the basis of legitimate interest in accordance with Recital 47 of the GDPR, with an opt-out mechanism provided in every communication.
3. How we share your information
Trusted partners and sponsors
We work with a curated network of wellness, productivity, and lifestyle partners whose products and practices are featured on our Discover page. We may share certain user information — including email address, general demographic information (such as age range and focus goals), and aggregated usage patterns — with these trusted partners to facilitate co-marketing campaigns, deliver relevant partner offers to you, and improve the products and services available through our platform. We require our partners to use shared information only for the purposes we specify and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Advertising and measurement partners
We may share information with advertising platforms (such as Meta, Google, and TikTok) to deliver, measure, and improve advertising on our behalf. This may include sharing hashed email addresses or device identifiers to create custom audiences, lookalike audiences, and conversion measurement. These platforms process this information under their own privacy policies.
Service providers
We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, customer support, and order fulfillment. These providers access your information only to perform tasks on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Aggregated and de-identified data
We may share aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you with any third party for any purpose, including market research, analytics, advertising, and business development. This data is not subject to the restrictions in this Privacy Policy.
Business transfers
If KeyBlock is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred or disclosed as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal data.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
4. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
We and our partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure campaigns, and improve experience. Third-party content or ads on our site may use their own tracking; we do not control those technologies.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Some markets require cookie choices; where required, we provide appropriate controls or opt-outs.
Do Not Track: There is no consistent industry standard for DNT signals; we do not respond to all DNT browser signals today but may revisit as standards evolve.
Global Privacy Control: Where supported, GPC may be honored as an opt-out signal for sale/sharing as defined under applicable law.
5. Advertising and sponsored content
Our Services may display advertising, sponsored content, and partner recommendations, including on the Discover page and within other areas of the app. These may be personalized based on your profile information, usage data, focus goals, and activity history. Some advertising content may be provided by third-party advertising networks. We may also send you marketing emails featuring products, services, or offers from our partners that we believe are relevant to your interests and goals.
6. Your choices and rights
Marketing communications
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by contacting us at support@keyblock.app. Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send you service-related communications (such as order confirmations, blocking reminders, and account notifications).
Account data
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@keyblock.app. We will respond to your request within 30 days. Note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including anonymized and aggregated data derived from your information.
EEA/UK residents
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, port, and erase your personal data, the right to restrict or object to processing (including direct marketing), and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@keyblock.app.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, disclose, and sell or share, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. To the extent that our sharing of information with trusted partners or advertising platforms constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, you may opt out by emailing support@keyblock.app with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
Categories of personal information sold or shared in the preceding 12 months: Identifiers (email address, device identifiers), demographic information (age range), internet or electronic network activity information (usage data, browsing behavior within the app), and inferences drawn from the above (focus goals, interest profiles). These categories may be shared with advertising platforms and trusted partners as described in Section 3.
Other regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws, including laws in Texas, Nebraska, Canada, Brazil, and Australia. To exercise any rights, contact support@keyblock.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may designate an authorized agent where applicable law allows.
7. Social media and plug-ins
Social buttons or embedded content may allow platforms to collect data about your visit. Their use is governed by their policies. If you interact with us on social media, we may respond using that channel.
8. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. We may retain certain information after you delete your account as required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for legitimate business purposes. Aggregated and de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.
9. Data security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Never share your account credentials. Report suspicious activity to support@keyblock.app.
10. Children's privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under the applicable age, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@keyblock.app.
11. International data transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country of residence. By using our Services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred internationally. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border data transfers.
12. Third-party websites
Our Services may link to other sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please read them before providing information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Services prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of our Services after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
